May 12th is Girls Aviation Day in Lakeville.

This Saturday May 12th, Lakevilles Airlake Airport will host the third annual "Girls Aviation Day". It is an event that promotes educating girls about achieving jobs in the aviation field. Wizard of Oz the Ballet at Burnsville Performing Art Center.

Summer Pottery Class at the Lakeville Area Arts Center.

This summer you can attend an introduction to pottery class at the Lakeville Area Arts Center. The class will focus on basic throwing techniques as well as hand building techniques. The class is also open for more advanced students to expand their abilities. The class will run for five weeks in June/July and in July/August. Arbor Day Tree & Shrub Sale.

The city of Lakeville is running a tree and shrub sale now through April 23rd. Residents can purchase a wide variety of bare root trees and potted shrubs for pick-up on April 28th. Pick up hours are between 8-11 am. Purchase sive of the trees are 6-10 feet depending on the variety. You can also purchase an American Sentry Linden Tree for donation to a city park. Free Nature Walks in Burnsville.

Join Burnsville's nature walks and explore the beauty of the outdoors. Burnsville will be hosting three free nature walks this spring and summer. Lakeville Watershed Cleanup Day Scheduled For Earth Day.

Free Family Fun Fest at Ames Arena.

This years Family Fun Fest will run from 5-9:00 on Saturday April 14th. Activities include: Ice Skating, Jumpers, Face painting, Chair massage, Raffle drawings, etc. Bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy the movie The Lion King at 7:00. The event is free.

Eagan Dog Park To Open at Thresher Fields.

The Eagan City Council voted to approve a new 6.38 acre off-leash dog park at Thresher Feilds. The park will have a mix of woodland and open terrain and will border a small lake. The project will use existing money, and will not financially affect taxpayers. The site is scheduled to open in July of 2012.

New Restaurant Opens In Lakeville

The Copper River Fish & Chop House opened its doors on Jan 26th. It is located at the corner of Dodd Road and Cedar Avenue in the building that was formerly Copper Blue and Molly Cools. The new entity has been described as a cross between Manny's and Oceaneaire in the suburbs.

Mystery Art Night in Eagan.

There will be  transportation offered this year from the Burnsville Center to the Home and Garden Show. Winter Animal Tracking Class Held at Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan.

Apple Valley Development Featured in Housing Documentary.

The Quarry View Townhome development in Apple Valley will be featured on the documentary "Homes For All". The show will air on Twin Cities Public Television in February. Family Leisure Moves To Kowalki Site in Lakeville.

The recreation retailer Family Leisure will be opening in the former Kowalski's site at Lakeville Crossing. The retailer specializes in a variety of products such as lawn furniture, hot tubs, and pool tables. This will be the companies second location in Minnesota. They also have a retail store in Brooklyn Park.

Travel The World At The Burnsville Library.

This Wednesday  February 8th, the film series "Travel the World" will explore Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. It will be at the Burnsville Library from 1:30-3:30. The cost is free. Apple Valley Holds Second Annual Pond Hockey Tournament.

This Sunday is the Second Annual Pond Hockey Tournament which will be held at the Hayes Community and Senior Center ice rinks.
