Spring Has Sprung...A Leak in My Basement! As I am finally getting over my seemingly endless sickness over the past few months, I am noticing the beautiful "drip drop" noise of the first (non-snow) raindrops. It is the sound that is accompanied by sunshine, warm weather, my jean jacket that I missed so much over the winter, & coming out of hibernation. It is also the realization that I still have not purchased the two gutter downspouts that have been missing from the house since the day I bought it. This, in turn, accounts for the little leak of water in my basement... the source of which I cannot seem to find. Ugh. Leave it to the Realtor to have the leaky basement, knowing an easy fix would be to buy the two gutter downspouts, clean out the gutters, and grade the soil away from the house. I always feel so guilty telling my clients the above-mentioned best fix for water in the basement because of my deep, dark secret... I guess it's not so secret anymore. They say that Realtors are the worst buyers and sellers because they overlook everything that they would never let their clients overlook. All I know is that I am officially slapping myself on the wrist and giving myself 2 weeks to fix the problem. You can check on me in 2 weeks... if it's not finished, I'll buy each person who let's me know a coffee. That is reason enough for me. As for all of the other wonderful signs of Spring... come out of your jobs, your homes, your caves- we did it! May the cold be erased from your tough memories! Minnesotans are such rockstars! Happy Spring!
