Cummins Power Generation has bought a building in Shoreview from Medtronic and is moving its headquarters and about 700 jobs to its new location at 3850 Victoria St N according to an article in the Shoreview Press.  This is a plus to Shoreview as it helps to keep its tax base strong and provides business diversity.  Shoreview has weathered the housing storm a little better than some suburbs due to its business base and the fact that it is mainly built out.  It did not get impacted by a lot of new construction.  The main impact of the housing storm has been the reduction in move up buyers from other areas.  This has brought values down but not like areas that has price boosts fueled by extensive building and fraud.
